A compilation provides no assurance about the fairness of the financial statements. It involves putting in the form of financial statements information that is the representation of management.

This level of service is usually appropriate for small organizations that are managed by their owners and for which their banker is not requiring an audit or review. It is important for owner/manager’s to keep up with the status of their business and timely financial statements are an important part of that process.

Often these financial statements are prepared under the same rules as the income tax return.
